I'd rather (for my neices and nephew)

by Casey   Aug 29, 2005

I know I'd rather
Be riding that pony,
Than supplying the quarters
To make it go.

I know I'd rather
Be watching that Disney movie,
Than rewinding it
So you can watch it again.

I know I'd rather
Be the one passed out with my blanket,
Than walking on tip toe
In fear of waking you.

I know I'd rather
Be the one held close in a lap,
Than the one
Holding a squirming child.

But I'd rather be
Your aunt for the rest of eternity
Than a child again.
No, I wouldn't trade that for the world.
