Innocent cries of a child

by lorna westwick   Aug 30, 2005

Why did he say he loved her
to take her soul away
she thought she could trust him
then along came the day

when he forced himself on her
said it was just fine
said it was going great
and she tasted divine

no matter how much she screamed
it seems no one could hear
the innocent cries of a child
which her mother loved so dear

once it was over she cried
and cried some more
as she watched her father
zip his trousers and walk out the door

that night she sat up praying
saying please don't let it happen again
but please don't let my dad go to prison
he is still a good man
