The Pasttime of our Country

by Kat   Aug 31, 2005

Baseball, the sport,
In which dreams have been made,
And taken away.
The Sport of victory and failure.

This sport has given and taken,
All that we have and hope for.
All do not love this sport,
Though it loves all.

It loves the fans,
Who cheer and cry,
For the players it loves,
Who obey and argue with the umps it loves.

This sport is a wonderful sport.
All may not agree.
But those who don’t,
Must live with it being part of their history.

This sport loves you.
This sport loves me.
For we are Americans.
And is baseball not America’s favorite pastime?
