The Key

by *NiCoLe*   Sep 5, 2005

A key so powerful
full of delight
buried deep under
out of sight

no explanation
no meaning at all
looking at this key
watching the rain fall

unburied at once
from a teenage girl
the key upon her hands
made her life unfurl

the mystery unlocks
the doors of light
a whole new life
created out of sight

by the touch so hard
of this key
everything is gone
let out free

good and bad disappear
gone so fast
a knew life excepted
forever will last

the door is open
if you are true
locked so tightly
for bad or blue

enter this kingdom
beganning of life
only good belongs
free of strife

a key so powerful
full of delight
buried deep under
out of sight

Great job, Nicole! I am sorry to hear that the hurricane has affected you, and I trust you will go through it. This poem is just lovely, and with an efficient structure. Good luck, and take care. Read and comment on some of my poetry if you get time.

Short verses, short lines, but still very effective, and as someone stated before me, "flippin awesome!" :) 5/5
