The Beach

by Stef   Sep 7, 2005

It was an innocent plan, we were just going to shoot some pool
And of course you were a pro, and I felt like a complete fool
But none-the-less I had fun, and when we headed to the beach
I actually felt like this relationship was somewhat within reach.

Playing cards with you is impossible, but it was still a good time
And for a moment while I sat with you, it felt like you were mine
And standing on the beach, with the waves crashing on the shore
Your arms around me, the stars above...I couldn't ask for more.

It was almost romantic, with all the city lights and all the stars
It was pretty sad to have to leave, but when I got into your car
I think that maybe you felt it too, or maybe I'm just mistaken
But I swear the look on your face was exactly what I was thinking.

Saying goodbye to you was hard, knowing I won't see you for a while
But I loved how you said you had fun, and you said it with a smile
And we agreed to do it again, and I'm so happy that you want too
Because honestly, I want nothing more then to just spend time with you.

I smile every time I think about your arms wrapped around me tight
And I know I'll never have more fun then I did with you last night
I'm really hoping you feel it too, because I feel something strong
Because it felt right, and I really feel that with you, I belong.
