As I Sit, As I Stand

by eternitySOlong   Sep 10, 2005

As I sit under the stars
In my head, I hear that "one song"
Wondering, thinking, asking 'why'
What was it that I did wrong

As I sit under the moon
I realize you are my everything
A tear bleeds down my cheek
I know I am your nothing

As I sit under the damp sky
I remember every second of that night
Shattered glass runs through my veins
My eyes go blank, I turn pale white

As I stand beside the lies
Your voice is all I can hear
Emptiness wraps around my heart
Death is something I no longer fear

As I stand beside your memory
I don't know why I love you so much
You're perfect, you're too good for me
Still, I'll always long for your sweet touch

As I stand beside myself
I think of all the times you made me cry
Having your fading love my last hurt
I fall from the bridge with a long awaited sigh
