Friends

So many words I need to say,
So many words I know,
But in my heart I just cant find,
The words to let you know.

I put a pen upon the page,
The words are hard to find,
I know just what I need to say,
Cause its all in my mind.

A tiny word can mean so much,
But no word is worth gold,
Cause that is what your friendship meant,
So words are left untold.

You had to leave me here alone,
While you walked a path above,
But now I know your waiting there,
For me at the gates of love.

So as times pass, and life goes on,
And friendships old and new,
There’s not a man upon this earth ,
Who gave a friendship more than you.

If I had a wish, just one in life,
I know what it would be,
I’d ask the lord to leave you here,
To spend more time with me
