A sad smile

by Purple   Sep 11, 2005

A sad smile to mask the pain.
A sad smile like a sunny day turned to rain.
So close to happiness yet so far away,
sealing off pain to feel another day.
Lost in the fear of rejection,
a sad smile to help aid in your hope of acceptation.
Emotions are hidden so you can avoid a tear,
but you can't help but worry about your fears.

----- Not poem
A sad smile, one happy thing on top of a bunch of sad things resulting in a sadness just barley masked by the small amount of happiness being felt.
