Destiny

by BrokenMisery   Sep 17, 2005

Scratching deep beyond the surface,
The red consumes your fate.
Wanting this forgiveness, its gone,
Now its just too late.

You set these desires aflame,
This fire holds a darkened lie,
Your blood won't be tame,
When you shed that howling cry.

You speak in tongue of the Devil's mouth,
Trifling with pleasured eye.
This innocence no longer holds you,
Child you can now die.

The fortune of a thousand thieves,
Has not controlled your destiny.
'Cause what you were in search of,
You never gave yourself.

Hey thanks for commenting on my poetry and your comments mean alot to me.

My fave verse in this poem was the first. I'm not sure why. It is a very unusual image that is conjured up and it works very well. Your last stanza works really well without the rhyme from the other 2 verses making it stand out, and again works tremendously so well done!

WOW. A great reminder to why you're on my fav. list. Any way that was definately great job. Amazing ways to convey what you wanted to get across. My fav. line "You speak in tongue of the Devil's mouth,". It did a great job of showing how decieving and tricky that person can be. I'm blown away each time i read your writing.
