Forgive Me My Lord

by Bill Turner   Sep 19, 2005

Things I have done for which I am not proud
There are things that were done that may be wrong
I have lived my life a little too loud
Had too much wine and too much song

Duty has driven many a dark deed
Things done for the greater good
Only one knows all about the life I once did lead
Tales from the dark side, the rope and the hood

She has helped me to heal
Listened to my confessions
Life full circle like a wheel
Learning all my lessons

Now I turn to my lord
Seeking salvation
I ask forgiveness my lord
Save me from damnation

Bless us and the life we have together
You united our souls saving my life
We love each other now and forever
Glorious union of husband and wife

    Bill-
This is such a wonderfully sincere poem. I really enjoyed it.
Our God is always faithful to forgive. It's a good thing too, cause I'd be in some real trouble if He wasn't. LOL

    Bill,
God forgives those that want to be forgiven, you asked and now the blessings will come....A touching poem that lets us all know: You can change if you truly want too...

    hugs, love, Ann
