A Ghostly Dream

by HansRik   Sep 19, 2005

Of my beloved girl too much I dream,
Oh! what a futile dream 't all is,
for she must part, forever, from my life.
And yet, in her voyage, I wish her all the joy,
may the angels guard her way,
and may the stars caress her tender skin.

But, yea, a futile dream 't all is.
She's no more than a ghostly dream vanishing away, forever, away,
she's a flame extinguishing, disappearing, dying away.

Love is a mere lie, the most beauteous lie.

What a painful dread it is, for the fire in the heart,
with Death, becomes like Ice,
congealing the lover slowly, painfully,
until his inevitable death comes by.
