Dark Eyed

by LadyPearl   Sep 20, 2005

Shadows shroud mirrors upon walls
eerie moon rise to hidden calls
river of blood falling on rocks below
wolves howl as rivers flow

In a town many miles away
where the old, secret house lay
a girl sat upon her beaten bed
watching the wrist that slowly bled

Innocent soul stolen within
now committing most horrible sin
to turn from light to the dark
encased and to hold the devil's mark

Dark eyed girl run astray
to the darkness of night she shall stay
A shadow, and spirit she now is
Trails of pain you could not miss

Taking the lives who stole her heart
tearing each frightened soul apart
Her anger seeps through pale fingers
Dark of night her soul still lingers.

This stanza was my favorite . Almost feels like *the hunted is now the hunter* the poem leaves the readers mind to ponder until the very end . A piece well done !!!!

Lovely poem yet again! But here is just a little though. Instead of :

    Shadows shroud mirrors upon walls
eerie moon rise to hidden calls
river of blood falling on rocks below
wolves howl as the river flows

    Change it to:

    Shadows shroud mirrors upon walls
eerie moon rise to hidden calls
river of blood falling on rocks below
    wolves howl as rivers flow

Just a tiny adjustment. -shrugs- It is good either way though!

Love the final stanza, It seems like you have more to say on the matter, but this is great how it is regardless.
