Before the Throne

by Brad Champagne   Sep 21, 2005

I kneel ashamed before the throne as once again I pray;
Knowing well what will be shown and what the Lord will say.
"My son, your faith is waning now, and strength you cannot find,
For your obsessions of the world have kept you all but blind."

These words are left to sink into this mind and soul and heart
To ponder by His grace, and once more find my part.
The path I seek is one which none but I can take,
But traveled it must be for to inure this cause's fate.

Rebuked and charged I stand alone in a place of war
That knows not of the dangers coming from afar.
When alas the fire falls to ignite those hearts of love,
Only one the waves withstand until the time that's set above.

Humbly I accept this charge, as life is not my own.
My heart and life and all I lay before the throne.
He forgives, beyond belief, my sins and doubts of old
As I again depart in Christ's love to weather this spiritual cold.
