These Barriers

Looking to the left a wall
looking to the right wall.
looking forward the tallest barrier of all
behind not even being an option.
donn't want to go back there
not to that sharp steel
the only thing i could actually feel

so where do i go from here?
can't go forward can't go back
can't go left can't go right
i'm stuck and can't find my path.

so i stay where i am
boxed in by my barriers
the walls that make me trapped.
a prisoner.

only now i realise these barriers are within my mind
i take the hammer of positive thinking
and with it knock down my walls of despair.
