Birthday Wish

Time to blow out my candles,
Wishes fill the spaces of my head,
Should I wish for world peace,
or luck in love instead?

Another year had become history,
Another year's awaiting for me.
The last year was a crazy ride,
God wasn't always by my side.

I secretly cried a river every night,
I hated myself and everything in sight.
I wished I would fall asleep and come alive
hearing a voice say "She's not gonna survive."

It took me long to realize,
I didn't have to compromise.
I got hold of my emotion,
Stayed strong & fight away my depression.

I struggled and made it through,
Though now, I still get the blues.
Depression visits me from time to time,
But with faith, Ill be just fine.

Time to blow out my candles,
Wishes fill the spaces of my head,
I wish Ill have the courage to defeat
all the obstacles that'll be stopping me
from becoming who I want to be.
