As a kid things seemed so simple
we'd laugh and show our dimples
we'd play until the sun would make us stop
we'd run in the rain until the last drop

As we got older though
we started to know
that things aren't so simple any more
Our memories of the good times are locked behind a door

Instead of having sinless fun
we've thrown our lives away with the things that we've done
we keep how we feel locked away
not like back in the better days

Some of us have found that life is to hard
That someone has given us the shitty card
we've resorted to things to make life not so bad
but in the end we are all still sad

Nothing ends the pain
not even that simple cut to our vein
as we watch the blood run
we know the pain is done

at least for a little while
so we grab that vile
to drink away the hurt thats still there
with that final drop we still feel so bare

so we smoke away our hurt
so we don't have to feel like dirt
but when we come back from that
we still feel like an awful dirty rat

so we pick up a can
now our head is spinning like a fan
with that last breath in
we're so messed up we cant feel our skin

but nothing seems to work because we are all still here
not the inhalants, knife, weed, or beer
we're throwing our lives away
i hope we all don't have to hurt someday

we're so sad we want to end it all
we've all had a bad fall
someone come and help us
we only need someone to care
