A Rainy Remembrance

by A Heart Losing Hope   Sep 28, 2005

The rain set early in tonight
All in the valley of death
I have heard it in the chilliest land
Smelling a deep and sinister unrest
Hearing ghostly marching on pavement stones
Now, beside the racing, incomprehensible racket
I can remember all they said
Their muttering protests, their whispered oaths
And all that spells their living in distress.
