It brings me to tears
To think of all these fears
When can I just be free
And learn to just be me
Why do I hate this person that I am
Why do I even give as damn
All I want is to be close to you

How long will I have to wait

I really want to like who you've made me to be

Our society says we have to be perfect
And my image doesn't measure up to what they reflect
I really don't want to care
Why is this so unfair
I do my part
But it doesn't help my broken and aching heart

But I am so afraid to fall

Help me feel like I am enough
This world is so rough
