Your Place

I see you in my dreams
And wonder how real this all seems
I can make out your broken and aching heart
And want you to know there is a brand new start
I see the cuts under your sleeve
And how you wish to grieve
Your so fragile and pale
I can hear your silent wail
You cut yourself to get free
But nothing releases the debre
Honey I know how it all goes
You are such a beautiful rose
I was once in your place
But now I have beaten that race
That life holds nothing but pain
And there is no such gain
Give this way a try
Sit yourself down and cry
Let it all out but don't hurt yourself anymore
Please it breaks my heart to see you on the floor
I ache for you
I wish you only knew
Let me take you by the hand and lead you out
He can help you through all of your doubt
You see I was once in your place
But I have been that damn race
