Freedom

by Truest Lies   Sep 30, 2005

Freedom!
shouted William Wallace,
and freedom is what I feel,
when the air rushes past me,
and I feel faster, stronger, sleeker than anything.
Im oblivious to oxygen,
I dont need something like that,
Ive got my heart,
My love for all celtic,
and that is enough.

Who thought muscles could hurt this bad,
I thought at first,
Ive never needed a glass of water this much!
But later I realized how special it was, and I almost laughed.

Ive never been so free,
So free of worries and woes,
Feeling so special, feeling so free.
And dancing on the stage,
It gets even better.
People applaud when I dance with my group,

And although Im not especially good at it,
I hold it in my heart,
And that is enough.
That is where all dreams start.

*a little poem about how much I like Irish dancing, I hope you all liked it.

I really got a warm feeling from this poem. The lines I really loved were these:
    Ive never been so free,
So free of worries and woes,
Feeling so special, feeling so free.

The exuberance you describe here is contagious. :-)

... and thans so much for your comment on my poem "Journey on a Desert Train."

Okay, all insults and sarcasm aside. This poem is..well.....splendid! It truly shows how much you like Irish dancing and how much you hold it with high regards.

My favourite stanza that pulled the whole poem together:

"And although Im not especially good at it,
I hold it in my heart,
    And that is enough.
That is where all dreams start."

    Especially the last line.
