FADING INTO THE GRAY LIGHT

by Gary Jurechka   Oct 4, 2005

And that was the day
of the eclipse,
the sky darkened at noon
like a gathering thunderstorm
bathed in a shroud of light.
I looked even though they said
it would burn out my retinas,
but it felt so much like I felt...
this burning, haunting haze
of gray air...I had to look,
and it reminded me
how your absence
had eclipsed my existence.

    "how your absence
    had eclipsed my existence."

I've rarely had my feelings put to paper by anyone else. But this phrase does just that!
    This entire piece is breathtaking!
    You're an outstanding writer~Holly
