AT THE PARK AGAIN

by Gary Jurechka   Oct 5, 2005

I wait in the park at
the spot where we used to meet
I stand there anxious and nervous,
waiting.And then there you are.

The smiles and dreamy eyes
leave the small talk fading away
and suddenly you're in my arms
and I'm kissing you.

I feel as happy as I ever was
so long ago
and it is more than memories,
I'm falling in love with you all over again.

And you stand there lost in bliss,
so caught in the moment,
and this love and passion
leaves us breathless and swooning.

The ecstasy of being together
spins us enraptured and
nothing else matters, there is nothing else,
but all too soon, you must leave for now.

After you are gone,
I stand there for awhile,
smiling with tears in my eyes.

And I know
this can only
end badly.

At the park again, I like it. I like it a lot, especially the last line when it says, "I know this can only end badly". I mean I like the way you open this poem with rapture but then bring it down to truth. But sometimes we just can't help ourselves. And maybe you are wrong and this will be the time for you two.

Passionately written! I love how the hope and love comes to a crashing halt with your last lines! Brutally honest....I really admire that~Holly
