Clenched

by Daniel Solomon   Oct 6, 2005

Closed up tightly.
Searching for a form of solace.
Throwing away the key.
Destroying my accomplice.
Burying hopes and dreams in the sand.
The sands of time blow away over time.
The secret no longer stains my hands.
Only one grain can corrupt this time.
A memory comes back when it's missed.
Changing everything we see.
When your hand wraps around my clenched fist.
We begin to believe.
Dry dust fills the air.
Leaving nothing but sand behind.
Those hopes and dreams are now in the air.
I'm free now that I've opened up my mind.

Very angelic and free-flowing. I admire poets like you because you have the natural ability to put any words into a piece of work, but it sounds perfect no matter what. A beautiful, glossy poem that has a delicate glass cover to it. Very well done. 5/5.
