Memorial poem for Tony

by Angelica   Oct 7, 2005

My friend Colleen & I wrote this about our good friend Tony Brandariz who was killed in a car crash on 9.29.05

a good friend dies, but a new angel will rise..

summer 2005 will always be in our minds,

the summer filled with our memorable times.

though it was short, it still meant so much

it's hard to believe we would quickly lose touch

tony was new, but became a great friend

its impossible to think, that this is the end

i remember you told me you slept in closets during your job

you were so bad at names, i wouldnt be surprised if you had called a mary "bob"

always making us laugh with terms like "holla and boo,
we never knew what that meant, and we think neither did you
you had to say "holla" when there was nothing else to say
you couldn't stay mad at us, your dimples gave it away.

from making jokes, and listening to him sing

some things Tony did were pretty embarassing

but we loved his high pitched laugh, and the way that he whined

and if it meant he was back, i'd let him sing all the time

he loved his car, we all know its true

how much time he spent, on his new BMW

we all saw his talent, how good he was at "ballin"

alycia had to deal with his ' i love you ' notes and callin'

he drove since was young, what a talented kid

so many amazing things that he did.

we were all jealous that melissa got to spend so much time

with "awesome neighbor" who was such 'a one-of-a-kind'

getting lost with angelica, his first time as a driver

she rolled up the windows to spare the passer-byer

from hearing the gangster music he played

no wonder they got 20 minutes lost that day

he was such a good friend, & was always there,

even at the movies, when colleen was scared

he held her hand, to make her feel better

being scared? he just wouldnt let her

in the upper, a locker he and val shared

if her book bag was heavy, tony cared

he was such a nice guy, and didnt deserve to go

why it was him? no one will ever know

tony brandariz, although the papers say you're gone

the memories in our hearts, mean you still live on

though a fatal car crash took you away,

i know we'll be seeing you, in heaven some day
