Take & Take

by Angelica   Jan 18, 2007

She sits alone in a corner,
fire burning by her side,
a deep bright flame leaps up,
as another note is thrown in.
you can hear the sizzle,
as a tear drop falls on a flame,
& one single ash is left.
the room is silent,
except for the tearing of,
letters, pictures, stuffed animals,
and single tare of a broken heart.
every now and then a sniffle is heard,
it echoes through the walls,
soon its followed by one eerie cry,
of pain, of sorrow, of heartache.
eventually the fire burns out,
the girl lays down to sleep,
but when the door into that dark room is opened,
she will not awake.
all that's left is a single note,
scribbled on it lays one message,
"you took my heart, I took my life"
