You try so hard to remember
every single last detail,
every last word,
every last joke, last breath.

& when the time comes
when you feel so alone
so afraid, of your thoughts`
that are never satisfied.

are the memories enough?

you close your eyes so tight
grasping that smile,
clutching that last hug,
straining to hear his voice, his laugh.

& then that time comes
when you feel so empty
so numb yet you feel`
that ever growing pain.

are the memories enough?

you try so hard to remember
but what happens when things get blurry?
when everything isn't so clear?
when time feels endless & goes on forever?

will the memories ever be enough?!

..they wont,
thats why he'll be waiting for you
that one day,
