A Declaration of Life and Love

by Aline   Oct 8, 2005

So far in this thing called life
I haven't done much of anything
Nothing worthy of a Grammy, Tony or
even the Pulitzer
But the things I've seen,
the people I know
Made the journey this far
so much fun, worth it all-
the pain, the tears
each one has gotten me to this moment
thank you for all those years
I'm sorry for all the tears
But I'll always think of you
And give you credit when you should
receive it
can't tell you how thrilled I am
to have met you all
cause to know you're proud of me
and happy for me
fills me up with more words
than I can find to say
to each of you-
go far, live large,
and DO IT UP!
but never forget the one
in the corner smiling
at your successes and happiness
I'll always be there
softly whispering
"Don't be afraid, it's all right"
helping along the way
I don't want you to get scared
there's not a place you will go
that I shall not follow
if only as a memory
or that voice in your heart
I love you all
