One True Love

by Debra   Oct 11, 2005

Love unfolds
Like a flower opening its petals for the first time
Grown from only a small speck of a seed
Planted with much care
And hope

It takes new form
From seed to flower
Soaking up the warm sun
A new feeling
Compared to being hidden in the dark for so long

Beauty emerges
Delicate and fragile
But only to grow stronger
And stronger
With the right nutrients

But sometimes
This fragile, delicate flower
Does not survive
Sometimes
It wilts
Turning brown and ugly
For the death of love
Is never a pretty sight
