To a Friend

by Aidyn   Oct 11, 2005

It seems I'm carrying out a duty and a want
But that's okay.
A duty is always best wanted
I've never been sarcastic without a reason, have I?

To you my friend, I give my mind
To which you can speak yours
And yours again can speak itself
Without need of want or duty

But as a friend, for that comes with need and want and duty itself

Friends are precious
And good ones; trustworthy are hard to come by
But I am lucky I find, to find, I find
I find my friends, who you know are all worthy of a call out to the world

But of course this one is for you
Without the constraints of want or need or duty
And it is for you, from me
A friend for ever

If you're asking whether or not this poem makes sense,
It doesn't have to
Just know that you have proved yourself as a friend over and over
And sense doesn't matter, anyways

I've written this for you.

And I hope you like it.

Thank you--just know that not all silence has to be pure
