Can't Move Her Picture Down

Up in Heaven another angel was needed
So, unfortunately, mine was claimed
I'm hoping she's happy, up in the clouds
While here my heart lies, twisted and maimed

I wonder if she hears the words I whisper
When I tell her to use her manners and behave
That she made me proud her entire life
To not worry or cry; to be brave

I remember when I saw her lying there
My heart just sunk at the sight
I hope it didn't hurt her too much
Though she didn't give up without a fight

Such a strong little girl, she tried so hard
But just like that she was gone
I promise, my angel, I'm trying too
So why, after all this time, can't I move on?

In my heart she holds a place
That no one else can fill
I tell people that I hurt no longer
Yet I can't move her picture down, still

She kept the angels waiting so long
She was and still is perfect in my eyes
I suppose I knew that this was coming
So why was it such a surprise?

I need to know that she hurts no longer
While I am struggling with the pain
Of not knowing how long it will be
Before I see my baby again

The angels there will treat you well
I know you're in a better place
Please promise that beside you in Heaven
You'll reserve for me a special place
