Silently crying, my head rests on your chest.
Your hand caresses my hair, comforting me.
The other massages my back, rubbing the pain away.
Patiently waiting for the tears to dry.

Whispering comforting words in my ear,
You hold me closer, afraid of letting me go.
Kissing my forehead, you repeat over and over
That you love me, no matter what happened.

Afraid, you hold me like it's our last day.
Afraid, you whisper promises in my ear.
Afraid of what I might do to myself,

Once the tears have dried, I look up to you.
The look in your eyes was undescribable.
Full of love, fear, compassion, sympathy.

Absorbed in my own world, it took me some time
