Revolving round revenge

by Bradley Peter   Oct 15, 2005

Is there any point in hating
or should we all give in to hate
what's the point in debating
one another's fate

revenge strives over forgiving
forgivers are seen as weak
life is here for living
yet causing pain is all we seek

one man makes a mistake
concluding in the hurt of a man
but to give is to take
so he does the worse he can

why is revenge our first thought
to make that person pay
why is this a lesson widely taught
to children each and every day

is sorry not enough
must they feel what you felt
for everyone life is tough
but you burn so they must melt

blow the situation out of hand
get the missiles at the ready
destroy them where they stand
because only the gutless stay steady

apparently revenge is sweet
yet the people are just bitter
each rival raising the heat
to see the strength of the quitter

a man's revenge goes too far
and the innocent pays the cost
he pursued the man in a car
and for that lives were lost

so revenge causes only hate
that hate can destroy lives
and what if its too late
and not a single soul survives

you can't blame another
for your actions were your own
soon people will discover
that revenge should be set in stone
