HUNGRY FOR YOU

by Gary Jurechka   Oct 15, 2005

(J'aurais toujours faim de toi)

Once upon a daydream
outlandos d'amour, flexible strategies,
a kind of loving, a secret journey
like shadows in the rain, walking on the moon,
spirits in the material world
a message in a bottle, de do do do, de da da da
aand every little thing she does is magic

Now you're gone
like tea in the Sahara,
a canary in a coal mine,
like an invisible sun
and in the low life of darkness
the truth hits everybody.
I just can't stand losing you
but it's already done and
I need someone to talk to
besides these voices inside my head
and the bed's too big without you,
there's a hole in my life,
O my God, so lonely, driven to tears,
walking in your footsteps,
wrapped around your finger,
and with every breath you take
I burn for you
but you have no time this time
and it's alright for you

So I'm the king of pain
a demolition man fallout,
a ghost in the machine-
rehumanize yourself,
for when the world is running down,

you make the best of what's still around.

(Note:This is my variation on 'found poetry'(which I don't really care for) but titles can't be copyrighted and this 'bastardized' version of found poetry is more creative and actually requires some thought and effort, so I did a few pieces using song/album titles of different bands(some worked, some didn't))
