Childhood Memories

I go back to my old town, reliving past memories,
thinking about how it is and how it used to be,
back when life was so much simpler,
and even the littlest things made me happy,

Passing by a little school that I used to call home,
and remembering all the friends I used to have,
some left town, others I just lost contact with,
but some are still here to make me laugh,

Remembering all the good times I had at the playground,
having flashbacks to when life was simple and fun,
like swinging and riding the merry-go-round,
and enjoying my life under the summer sun,

Looking at all the houses that were full of life,
now they seem so quiet, dull and plain,
the people too, were energetic and lived happy,
now they all seem to be full of problems and pain,

Walking through the park seeing visions of my past,
watching myself swing on the swing set,
watching myself make it across the monkey bars,
remembering memories I will never forget,

These memories will never leave the depths of my mind,
cause these memories belong to the younger me,
back when this life was so much simpler,
and even the littlest things made me happy....
