A True Friend

by Christopher Liau   Oct 20, 2005

A true friend will always be near,
Even if great distance gained,
A true friend will always share your tears,
Even if they know not your pain.

A true friend will always hold you high,
Even when you are feeling down,
A true friend will never make you cry,
Although they sometimes make you frown.

A true friend will always read your mind,
Even knowing before you do,
A true friend will always have the time,
To help out and chat with you.

A true friend will always understand,
Even when you make no sense,
A true friend will always stand your ground,
Even if they are entrenched.

We'll be friends until the end,
In my heart, I'm always with you,
My happiness I'll gladly lend,
So we shall never say adieu.

Hey, that's such a sweet beauty!
Yes, true friends rock. And the good thing is that you only need one!
    Take care.

I don't often enjoy rhyming poetry; however, your poems are like a new breath of air. So many people on this site, despite their good intentions, bring to us so many poems that lack talent and feeling. I've read several of your poems, all of which were worth 5 points.

Keep writing, you're an important aspect to this site...bring us more of your talent!
