The destruction of a soul

by Bradley Peter   Oct 21, 2005

Did the wind blow pass your shoulders
did it almost blow you away
did you get buried by the boulders
did you then get led astray

did the times brush pass your cold face
did you forget where you were
did your eyes not recognize this place
did your thoughts begin to stir

did your smile hide your shame
did the wink disguise your lies
did you get confused with this game
did it all come as a surprise

did the boxed wall seem to close
did you feel you were all alone
was this the life that you chose
or was it already set in stone

did nightmares destroy the dreams
did the bulb lose its light
were your thoughts invaded by screams
did you lose sight of what's right

does the mirror reflect a shell
of who you once were before
do you now only dwell
and wish to be them once more

do you watch people go by
do you dream of the life they lead
do you constantly ask the question why
you fail and they succeed

did you expect me to know the answers
did you want me to reveal all
the truth is we're all dancers
and one day we all must fall
