Before the ink runs dry... 4 everyone who thought it was over

by Courtney   Oct 23, 2005

I hadnt fallen in quite some time
Every step of the way I followed that line
But the line quavered, my knees buckled
And I lay on the floor
Ive been here before
So many times
So many
Someone has ripped off my skin and squeezed me dry
The wind passes through me with a whispered cry
I choke on the emptiness, I scream at the need
But the grey walls around me drip to the floor
I cant take it anymore
Im not going back to how it was
Every breath full of daggers
Through each day I staggered
Im not going back
Put me back on track
Please
Just a genuine smile
Keep me high for a while
Till Im back on the bend
This pen as my friend
But only so many words can hold my despair
Parade my rage
Smother the page
So thats it then, Ill bottle my cries
And give up now before the ink runs dry...
