Angel's Tears

Momma said that raindrops
Were made from angels tears
Falling down from heaven
to wash away our fears

She said that angels tears
Leads a path to His kingdom
That it was like the railroad
That took the slaves to freedom

Watching the rainfall
We would sit for hours
It was just the two of us
In those moments that were ours

The day came when I no longer had her
Sitting there next to me
But looking out at the rainfall
I finally got to see

The path that leads to His kingdom
That has been laid out for you and me
That day that Momma told me
Was the day she helped set me free

So now when I watch the rainfall
I know that Momma\'s tears
Helps make the rain
That will wash away my fears
