Clean

by Lalieth   Oct 27, 2005

I swept it away.
Simply put,
I cleaned it all away.

Today the sun and sky smiled down on me,
So I shook these dusty dreams from my feet.
Today everything I think we need is free.
She said, maybe tomorrow, then we'll see.

The warm days were glass, the cold nights were blades.
Could not protect the fortune we had paid.
The bed I made, we commiserate it.
That degree of faith was over rated.

All the flakes of your resistance,
I crushed them all.
With the fists of your psychic infant,
I killed them all.

Yesterday I hung there on the silk thread.
What if you die, but then you're never dead?
From the solar system, "I am with you."
On the other side we become brand new.

You tried to save my life in just one way.
Staring straight into the Fates a day too late.
Now my love you wish to assassinate.
Where is the devil you will nominate?

Come on free, come on deep,
With all the dying screams I weep.
With your "please", and your greed,
With all the poison I have to keep.

Tell them Mary is sailing with the dawn,
She wore the inside, used to be so hard.
On the outside, now you've finally made it.
Now the truth is out, so celebrate it.

Truth is sorrow, you just imitate it.
Look, the summer of my life has faded.
There's music there, in the wind, on the strand.
Truth is written in black ink on her hand.

But I can't read it, and I hear no song.
My life, my chances, where did I go wrong?
I've swept them away.
Simply put,
I gave it all away.

This poem is such a chaos of emotion! A riotous traffic of passion and despair, desperation and risk; it is utterly fantastic, and unique, in every facet of poetry.

    Bravo~
I look forward to more of your work.
