What if.....?

by Daniel J   Oct 27, 2005

What if I'm too scared?
What if I'm not prepared?
What if I lack the courage,
And what if they say no?

Indeed, what if they do say no?

What if, on Mars it snowed,
In the summer of '64?
Remember that it matters not,
These silly thoughts should be forgot!

Rather than be scared,
The question you should ask,
Is "What if they say yes?"
It takes some courage,
It takes some time,
But it all pays off,
And if they do say no:
You'll move on in time.
--------
So i've moved on from my "if it doesn't rhyme, it's not a poem" stance, and stuck in an almost completely non-rhyming poem of my own. Rate, comment, dwadle about, have some tea and scones. Whatever you like.

Definately different I found this quite original and even though it seems to be in part unrelated, I can see how you bring it all back together. Nice job.

Damn right! Rhyme isn't always necessary. Poetry is about flow and getting your point across, sometimes rhyme isn't needed at all. Good poem!
