Life is like this

The fire burns inside as the pain lives
In this world, hands are offered to take not to give

The sorrows flow like streams down my cheeks
But happiness is all I'm trying to seek

The sun rises each morning to reveal the darkness of the night
And I live each day just to see this light

Words are spoken to t o r t u r e my mind's innocence
But I keep my secret understandings in silence

Once again, the rose lives for our eyes to enjoy
And when it's d e a t h occurs, the very existence we deny

Our society continues to build on it's mistakes
But I'm not ready to change
To fill my heart with guilt and live another day
To me it seems very strange

Every door closes, yet I want to wait
Hoping someday they learn to love and wash away the h a t e
