You remind me

You remind me of the clouds
how they soar so swiftly
traveling to another time and place
filling up with anger and sorrow
holding it until it pours out of you
like the heavy downpour of rain
and like the clouds
you then return to your normal
happy and bright composure.

You remind me of the trees
the way you plant yourself into your life
forcing your roots farther and deeper
holding on strong
yet when the wind comes
and the lightning strikes
all your determination
and forceful strength
can't keep you from falling.

You remind me of the birds
how they sing from their heart
sending the shrill notes into the sky
filled with passion
hoping others will listen
stop and let the melody take them away
and if they do
you aid their soul with yours
and if they don't;you sing on anyway.

You remind me of the sun
the way it rises everyday
on some days bright and joyful
on others you hide behind the clouds
but even though everyday is the same
and your dreams never come true
you get up every day with hope
you won't wake up
from your bright lively dreams.

You remind me of the moon
how you sometimes feel so lonely
sometimes feel so forgotten
but open your eyes and see the stars
shinning and shimmering
blazing through the night
they are you friends
Oh lonely moon
they're here for you.

You remind me of the silence
the way it can mean almost anything
peace and serenity
sorrow and angst
or confusion and loneliness
and when the music plays
rippling your stationary surface
you grasp the liveliness
and hold on to life.

You remind me of a storyteller
creating the life he lives everyday
you remind me of a teacher
trying to help others understand
you remind me of a child
naive and happy but hurt so easily
you remind me of people all around me
