Have you ever hurt so bad
that you can't even find the tears
to relieve you of the pain
that you've felt so many years?

have you ever walked around smiling
like nothing was wrong?
trying to keep it inside
so you listen to a happy song?

have you ever acted like you're okay
like nothings wrong, that you're fine?
and fooled your friends for so long
that you don't even know who you are inside?

do you stay up at night
staring blankly outside your window?
pleading, asking, wanting
just to get out of here - just go?

your mother's downstairs crying
you don't know what to do
you hold her tight and say its ok
another lie thats told by you

the day goes by just like this
just like every other day
the wind is howling at your window
you just want everything to be ok

and now the sun is setting
your pain and anguish is still there
your fathers gone, your mothers sad
and nobody seems to care
