Daybreak

by Stef   Nov 4, 2005

It's like a life without light, a world engulfed in night
Where there's no moon or sun, and the daybreak won't come.
There are no stars in the sky; it's all just black and white.
And I'm sitting here alone; so afraid and on my own.

It's like a life I can't live, a game I just can't win
A fight that I lost, and a line that can't be crossed.
A broken heart that won't beat; tears that won't leave
Discovering lies to be facts; retreating from human contact.

It's like a life filled with regret, a lie I can't forget
Wounds that never heal, and a heart that refuses to feel.
A promise that was broken; words always left unspoken
A long lost confession; a world dark with depression.

It's like a life without light, a world engulfed in night
Where the sky is just black, and the smiles won't come back
It's like a world without wonder, a life without colour
Where the daybreak just won't come, and this battle can't be won.
