Candle Light

by SMILEoften   Nov 6, 2005

I remember your expression,
As we sat in the tall grass.
Holding hands, talking, smiling..
There was no need to go fast.

We lit those candles
We should've said a prayer.
Cause who knew that our love
Could turn into a nightmare?

The candles started fading
And the scent drifted away.
We tried to light them again
But love wasn't here to stay.

I remember your face
When we said good bye.
I tried to act strong
But I just wanted to cry.

Now as we're in this crowded room
Your glazed eyes drift back to me.
Extreme lust seems to wash over
Tonight, we will pay the fee.

To the back room
to the stairs.
I took your hand
and led you there.

We left our common sense
Pressed to the candle light.
We forgot about our past
And forgot about the fight.
Whoever knows what happened
Not even I remember now..
But to you, my first real love,
Here is to you, I will vow..
The Candle Light
