You Were Everything

Keep me awake,
These thoughts swim through my head.
Do you love me, as I, you?
Is this all a game?
Loosing myself in my thoughts now.
Going insane.
Hate the fact that you run my brain.
And everything it contains.
I don't think you feel the same.
Maybe it's better this way.
The rose has wilted.
Beads scatter the ground.
The scent of singed love letters,
Consumes me.
As i try to hide
My grief.
Masks it temporarily,
YOU WERE NEVER MINE.
I gave you my heart, unrefined.
It was pure.
Way back, when I was so sure.
You were everything I needed.
Loved.
Longed for.
