An Extraordinary Birth of Twins

by Heather Prior   Nov 8, 2005

A scream--
Like the ancient sirens.
Travels down
The halls of dark illusions
In a solitary room
A witch gives birth
To children of the night.
Her husband stands by,
Try ing to calm her
For she scares away the doctors,
When she's chanting spells.
Finally, all is dark,
When the first one is born.
The nurses fall at the sught.
But the father holds his baby boy
Waiting for his daughter
Light comes from the sky
As the moon
Shines through the window
And the father hands his daughter
To his wife.
The all is calm again
All becomes normal again.
