Music

by Bill Turner   Nov 8, 2005

The entire world is my soundtrack
Everything is music to me
Sound and memories flood back
Never letting me be

I associate songs with people and events in my life
Friends and family all have a theme song
"If I only had a brain" for the ones giving me strife
Walk in my shoes before you tell me this is wrong

"On the road again" for the birth of my son
As I spent six hours hitch hiking to hold him tight
"Margaritaville" for those evenings of fun
Parrothead music and tequila lasting all night

Thundering explosions and screams of pain
Mark the soundtrack to a time I was stabbed
"Welcome to the jungle" falling like rain
Hearing that song I flashback to being grabbed

A special soundtrack for the woman I love for life
"Satisfy my soul" pounding out a beat in my heart
"Broken road" when sung by the woman to be my wife
Filling me with love knowing we will never part

Music has meant so much to me
It is there for all that I do
At times it was all that kept me free
It will be there until I am through
