Just Lust

by Renee   Nov 9, 2005

This isn't love, or we would have made it
It's just lust, I can taste it.

Well, please excuse me for my sorry excuses
"Were getting nowhere, these words are useless."
But I'm too weak for the truth,
too scared to love you.
And I've spewed these lines to many times before
but this must be a first.
I've got butterflies ripping my stomach-it hurts.

I guess it's alright that you turn and face away
well I never thought I'd see the day.
I'm still thinking about you in our special way,
it was just so much easier when you did the same.

And maybe I'm just stuck in our fantasy,
I'm glad to see you found your way out.
Now maybe you can help me,
don't leave me with these pristine images of you.

Now listen here, this isn't love
we would have lasted years.
And when it's taken less than three months to fall head over heels..
No, this is just another case of lust my dear.

-*- written awhile ago...I'm sure as hell not stuck in the "fantasy" anymore, and the pristine images are starting to fade.
