Final Stanza

by The Depression Bard   Nov 11, 2005

I remember when,
So long ago,
You told me everything,
Every secret, for me to know.

Yet it seems that trust is gone,
Gone to a bitter freezing night,
You told me everything,
Even when everything was alright.

So what happened?
Why did the trust disappear,
Why do your eyes avert,
every time I'm near?

Is it that our hearts are cold,
And out love is dead?
Why do your eyes avert,
When I'd listen to anything you said?

If I've done you wrong,
Please let me know.
With this stanza,
I beg of you, so.

A request from me,
Begging unto you,
With this stanza,
I leave something new:

A request, a simple one at that,
That you never forgive me,
And with this final stanza,
I pray, that you'll forget me.
